While mapping out Issue 4, we noticed a common thread that came from each of our featured artist’s submissions: approaching weddings as an opportunity for human connection, with the work created coming beautifully and organically second.

That’s why we knew Emily’s work from this wedding needed to be featured. Emily’s photography is quietly elegant, and she is a master of the moment over the photo. We chatted about the fine line between direction and intrusion, what photos actually mean to couples, and what photos we actually want to take as artists.
